How to make a Tiny Desk AI video
Last updated:

You need one photo and a few minutes. Here is the whole process, plus the details that make the difference between a clip that looks right and one that does not.
1. Choose the photos
Pick a recent, sharp photo of one adult facing the camera for each seat you want to replace. Even, soft light works best; a window is usually enough, and a photo that already shows your shoulders gives the model more to work with.
Click any of the five face circles or drop a photo onto it. Choose at least one performer; no particular seat is required. Drag selected photos between faces to move or swap them. Empty faces keep the original performer.
2. Recognise the template
The band, set and camera move come from the reference clip. Choose which performers to replace in its three scene previews.
Add a separate photo for each person you want to replace. The face circles show your selections, not a preview of the final AI render.
3. Pick a quality
Every clip runs 15 seconds; there is no shorter or longer cut. Standard renders at 480p for 15 credits and HD at 720p for 75.
Both are vertical 9:16 and download as MP4, so the choice is about sharpness rather than length.
4. Upload, confirm and generate
Choose the photos first, tick the consent box, then click Generate. Sign in with Google when prompted; your photos and options stay on the original page. Click Generate again after signing in, or get credits if needed. Once rendering starts, you can close the page; the video waits for you under My videos.
5. Download and label it
Download the vertical MP4 when it is ready. Keep the AI-generated label and mention in the caption that the clip was made from a photo. Do not present it as footage of a real concert.
